The following instructions may be helpful when preparing for your upcoming surgery. Please do not hesitate to call if you have any last minute questions. We can be reached at (512) 346-2490 during regular business hours.
You should receive your pre/post-operative prescriptions with this instruction sheet. For your convenience, please have them filled prior to your scheduled surgery, unless they have been previously phoned into the pharmacy of your choice. Please bring your filled prescriptions with you to your appointment.
The morning of your appointment, please take all medications as prescribed. If your surgery is scheduled in the morning, have nothing to eat or drink after midnight unless you have been prescribed a steroid. This medication can cause nausea if taken on an empty stomach. Take this medication with a piece of toast or something light. If your appointment is in the afternoon, you may eat prior to 8:30 am.
On the day of the surgery, it is suggested that you wear loose fitting clothing and comfortable shoes. Please remove nail polish if possible. Contact lenses must be removed prior to surgery. Leave all valuables at home.
A responsible driver must drive you to and from the dental office. Be advised that the sedative drug will affect your senses and memory for as long as 24 hours. You will also need a responsible person to take care of you while under the influence of this medication.
In order to evaluate your progress and healing, we will see you in one week following the surgery.
